Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back into collecting sports cards, and I figured, why not start local? I’m in Seattle, so I wanted to see what the scene was like around here. Here’s how my little adventure went.
First Step: The Hunt Begins
I started by, you know, hitting up the internet. I just searched for “sports cards Seattle WA,” simple as that. I needed to get a feel for what stores were even around.

Digging Through the Options
I got a bunch of results, of course. It was a mix of dedicated card shops, some comic book stores that also sell cards, and even a few pawn shops.
- I jotted down the names of a few places that looked promising – the ones with decent reviews and seemed to specialize in sports cards.
- I checked out their websites, if they had them, to see what kind of stuff they carried. I was mostly looking for baseball and basketball, my favorites.
- I paid attention to their hours, because, well, I needed to actually go there!
Hitting the Streets
I picked out a couple of shops that were relatively close to each other, so I could hit them both in one go. It’s always good to have options, right?
The first place I went into was pretty cool. They had a huge selection, everything from vintage cards to the newest releases. The guy behind the counter was super helpful, too. He showed me some of their rarer stuff and even gave me some tips on what to look for.
The second shop was a little smaller, but it had a more “local” feel. They focused more on Seattle teams, which was kind of neat. I even found a few older Mariners cards that I’d been wanting for a while!
The Result?
I ended up grabbing a few packs and a couple of individual cards that caught my eye. It wasn’t a huge haul, but it was a good start. More importantly, I got a feel for the local card scene and found a couple of places I’d definitely go back to.
It was fun getting out there. Browsing the store felt like walking through history!

All in all, it was a successful little mission. I’d say if you’re in Seattle and looking for sports cards, definitely do some digging and check out the local shops. You might be surprised at what you find!
