Today, I decided to give this Yoplait Healthy Heart yogurt a try. I’ve heard some good things about it, especially since it contains plant sterols that are supposed to help lower cholesterol. So, I figured, why not?
I went to the grocery store and found the Yoplait Healthy Heart section. They had a few flavors, but I opted for the classic strawberry one. I grabbed a couple of cups, thinking I should eat two servings a day as recommended. I heard the company General Mills made this stuff, and it’s the first yogurt with plant sterols in the US.

The first day, I had one serving with my breakfast. It tasted pretty good, just like regular Yoplait yogurt, but knowing it might be helping my heart made it even better. The texture was smooth, and the strawberry flavor was on point. For my second serving, I had it as an afternoon snack. Easy peasy.
- Morning: Had one serving with breakfast.
- Afternoon: Had another serving as a snack.
Day 1
I kept this up for about four weeks. I didn’t change much else about my diet, but I did try to eat more veggies and less junk food. The yogurt was a consistent part of my routine. Two servings a day, one with breakfast and one as a snack or with dinner.
- Daily Routine: Two servings of Yoplait Healthy Heart.
- Diet Tweaks: More veggies, less junk food.
Week 1-4
After four weeks, I went to get my cholesterol checked. I was kind of nervous but also excited to see if this yogurt really did what it claimed. Turns out, my LDL cholesterol (that’s the bad kind) had gone down by about 6 percent! I couldn’t believe it. Something as simple as eating yogurt twice a day could make such a difference.
Besides the Yoplait, I tried other yogurts that are supposed to be good for lowering cholesterol. I had some Greek yogurt because it’s high in protein, and some Skyr, which is apparently called Icelandic yogurt. They were all pretty good, but the Yoplait was the easiest to stick with because it was just so convenient.
Overall, this little experiment was a success. I mean, who knew that something as simple as eating yogurt could help with cholesterol? I’m definitely going to keep this up. It’s an easy and tasty way to do something good for my heart. I didn’t even do a blood test, but just feeling good is enough for me.
So, if you’re looking for an easy way to help lower your cholesterol, give Yoplait Healthy Heart a shot. It worked for me, and it might work for you too. Plus, it’s pretty darn tasty!
