Okay, so today was a bit of a wild ride in the tech world. I woke up, grabbed my coffee, and tried to check my usual news feeds. Nothing. Blank screens, error messages – the whole nine yards. Turns out, it wasn’t just me.
First, I rebooted my phone. You know, the classic “turn it off and on again” trick. Nope, still nothing. Then I checked my Wi-Fi router. All the lights were blinking like they should, so that wasn’t it.

Next, I jumped on my laptop and tried to access a bunch of different websites. Social media? Down. News sites? Down. Even some of my favorite online tools were unavailable.

That’s when I started to suspect something bigger was going on. I headed over to one of those “down detector” websites, and wow, was it lit up like a Christmas tree! Red alerts everywhere for tons of major services.
I also saw people talking about it on the few platforms that were still working. Everyone was experiencing similar problems, and it quickly became clear that we were dealing with a widespread global tech outage.
It’s still not totally clear the root cause, sometime maybe the fiber optic cable has broken, sometime may the cloud server is down. But from this outage, I have learned that we are so dependent on those online services, and also learned not put all eggs into one basket.
