Okay, so I decided I needed to swing by Big 5 the other day. The one over in Everett, Washington. My old workout shorts were looking pretty sad, honestly, and I figured it was time for an upgrade. Nothing fancy, just something comfortable that wouldn’t fall apart after two washes.
Heading Out and Getting There
So, I hopped in the car. Getting to the Everett location is usually pretty straightforward, depending on traffic, you know how it is around here. Found a parking spot without too much hassle, which is always a good start. I grabbed my wallet and headed towards the entrance.

Inside the Store Experience
Walked in, and it’s pretty much what you expect from a Big 5. That familiar smell of new shoes and sporting equipment hits you right away. It’s not a huge store, but they pack a lot in there. Aisles are usually pretty organized, which I appreciate. I wasn’t really looking to browse forever, had my mission in mind: find the shorts.
I made my way back towards the apparel section. Passed the shoe walls – rows and rows of sneakers and boots. Always tempting to look, but I stayed focused. Found the men’s clothing area. Lots of t-shirts, jackets, and then, finally, the shorts section. They had a decent selection, different brands, different styles.
Finding What I Needed (Mostly)
Started sifting through the racks. Looking for my size, checking the material. Some felt too thin, others a bit too pricey for what they were. You know, the usual drill. I wasn’t looking for high-end performance gear, just solid basics.
- Checked out a few different pairs.
- Compared prices and how they felt.
- Finally landed on a couple of likely candidates.
Took a quick look around for workout shirts too while I was there, but didn’t see anything that really jumped out at me this time. Staff seemed busy, moving stock around, typical stuff. Didn’t really need any help, I knew what I was looking for.
Checking Out and Final Thoughts
Grabbed the pair of shorts I decided on and headed towards the front registers. The line wasn’t too bad, moved pretty quickly. The cashier was friendly enough, did the usual checkout routine. Paid up and was out the door.
So yeah, mission accomplished. Got my new workout shorts from the Big 5 in Everett. It’s a reliable spot if you need basic sporting goods without wanting to deal with a giant superstore. Selection is decent for the essentials, prices are usually okay. It did the job for what I needed that day. Just a regular shopping trip, really, but got it done.
