Alright, let’s talk about this tequila stuff, the “best in the world” they say. World? Never been, but I know good drink when I taste it. My old man, he used to say… well, never mind what he used to say. Let’s stick to the tequila.

They got all these fancy names, like Nobleza 33 Reposado. Sounds like somethin’ a rich fella would order. Says it won some prize, “Best in Class.” Classy, huh? Probably costs a pretty penny. Me, I just want somethin’ that goes down smooth and warms ya up from the inside out. Don’t need no fancy words for that.
Then there’s this Cierto Tequila. Won a bunch of medals, gold ones at that. Gold! Must be good, right? Like the gold watch my grandpa had, always shined, always worked. But medals don’t mean nothin’ if it tastes like horse piss, I always say. Gotta try it yourself to know for sure.
Now, what makes a good tequila anyway? Some folks say it’s the age, how long it sits in them barrels. Others say it’s the agave, the plant they make it from. Me? I think it’s a bit of everything. Gotta have good plants, good barrels, and someone who knows what they’re doin’ to put it all together. Like makin’ a good stew, ya know? Can’t just throw anything in there and expect it to taste good.
This “rise of tequila” they talk about, I don’t know much about that. All I know is more and more folks are drinkin’ it. Used to be just whiskey and beer, now everyone’s sippin’ tequila. Maybe they finally figured out what us old folks knew all along – it’s good stuff!
- Añejo Tequila: They say this stuff is aged longer, so it’s smoother. Like an old dog, calmed down and easy goin’.
- Reposado Tequila: This one’s rested, not as long as the Añejo, but longer than the blanco. Kind of in-between, I guess.
- Blanco Tequila: This is the young stuff, straight from the still. They say it’s got a real kick to it. Like a mule with a burr under its saddle.
They got all these different types, too. Añejo, Reposado, Blanco… sounds like a foreign language to me. But I guess each one tastes a little different. Like apples, some are sweet, some are tart, some are just right. You gotta find the one that suits your taste.

And don’t even get me started on the price. Some of them bottles cost more than my whole chicken coop! I ain’t payin’ that much for no drink, no matter how good it is. There’s plenty of good tequila out there that won’t break the bank. You just gotta know where to look, or who to ask.
So, what’s the best tequila in the world in 2024? I ain’t no expert, but I’d say it’s the one that tastes the best to you. The one that makes you smile and forget your troubles for a little while. Don’t go chasin’ fancy names or high prices. Just find somethin’ you like and enjoy it. That’s the best advice I can give ya. And remember, drink responsibly, ya hear? Don’t want ya endin’ up in the ditch like old man Johnson.
And another thing, don’t let them city folk fool ya with all their fancy talk. They might know the names and the prices, but they don’t know nothin’ about real drinkin’. Real drinkin’ is about sharin’ a good bottle with good friends, laughin’ and tellin’ stories. That’s what matters. Not some medal or some fancy label.
Now, I’m gonna go pour myself a little somethin’. All this talk about tequila’s made me thirsty. And remember, the best tequila ain’t always the most expensive one. It’s the one you enjoy the most.
So go on out there, try a few different kinds, and find your own “best tequila in the world.” Don’t listen to those fancy magazines or those know-it-all bartenders. Trust your own taste buds. They won’t steer you wrong.

And one last piece of advice, never drink tequila on an empty stomach. Always have somethin’ to eat, even if it’s just a few crackers. Trust me on this one, you’ll thank me later.
Now, I’m done talkin’. Go find yourself a good bottle and enjoy it. That’s all there is to it.
