Okay, so I’ve been digging into Travis Scott lately, not just his music, but the whole package, you know? And I gotta say, the dude’s relationship with politics is kinda fascinating, and I wanted to share what I found with you all.
It all started when I was listening to “Astroworld” – yeah, I know, old news, but it got me thinking. The name itself is a throwback to this theme park in Houston, where he’s from. I was curious, and I ended up on this whole rabbit hole. Started reading about how he dropped out of college, went to New York, then LA, chasing his music dream. Met T.I. along the way, and even got picked up by Kanye’s label, Good Music. Crazy, right?
Then, I found some interviews where he talked about “Astroworld” being like a continuation of his first album, “Rodeo.” He’s got this whole vision, I think, trying to capture a feeling, a vibe. Anyway, that’s when I stumbled onto his thoughts about what’s going on in the world, especially with racial injustice.
This one interview really got me. He basically said he sees himself as a “tool” for the cause. He’s willing to use his fame and money to help out.
