Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Smokey River Entertainment District, sounds like a real hootenanny place! I heard tell they got all sorts of goin’s-on down there, like this Missouri Growers Cup thingy. Sounds fancy, huh? Probably got folks showin’ off their biggest pumpkins or somethin’. The Inaugural Missouri Growers Cup, they call it. First one ever! And a festival too? Lordy, must be music and food and all sorts of carryin’ on.
Now, I ain’t never been to no big city like Kansas City, but they say that’s where this Smokey River place is gonna be. Or maybe it already is? Heck, I get all confused with these city folk ways. They say it’s in somethin’ called the Village of River Bend. Sounds pretty, like a place with lots of trees and a river, just like back home. Only difference is, back home we ain’t got no “entertainment districts.” We just got the crick and the woods, and that’s entertainment enough for us.
But this Smokey River, they got big plans. They’re talkin’ ’bout festival grounds for 2023 and 2024. That’s a whole lotta festivals! Makes me wonder what kinda folks they got playin’ there. I heard some names, fancy ones like Wiz Khalifa and Joey Bada-somethin’. Never heard of ’em myself, but I reckon they must be somebody if they’re playin’ at a big place like that. Berner and Smoke Dee-Zee-Ay too. Sounds like a bunch of fellas who like to smoke, just like my old man used to! He’d a fit right in, that’s for sure.
And get this, they got tickets you can buy. On somethin’ called SeatGeek. Sounds like a contraption, one of them newfangled internet things. They say you can get tickets for “all upcoming events” and that the prices are the “lowest.” Well, I hope they ain’t lyin’, ’cause I ain’t got money to throw around. I tell you what, this Smokey River place sounds like it’s gonna be somethin’ special. A real hubbub of activity. Music and festivals and who knows what else. Maybe they got cornhole tournaments? Or pie-eatin’ contests? Now, that’s somethin’ I could get behind. I ain’t much for this hip-hop music the young folks listen to, but I do like a good pie. And a good time.
