So, the other day I was looking to snag some gear from my old high school, Brooklyn Tech. You know, for old time’s sake. I figured it would be easy enough, just hop online and find their store. Ha, easier said than done.
First, I hit up the usual search engines. Typed in “Brooklyn Tech merchandise” and got a bunch of results. There was this one site, “*,” that popped up a lot. It claimed to be the “official store” for Brooklyn Tech stuff. Sounded legit, right?

I clicked through and found a whole section for Brooklyn Tech Engineers gear. They had all sorts of stuff – sweatshirts, t-shirts, jackets, the whole nine yards. I even saw some crew neck sweatshirts, one in navy and one in sport grey, for 25 bucks each. Not bad. They also had sweatpants and a bunch of tees, including one that just said “Brooklyn Tech” in big letters for about 12 bucks.
- Spent hours browsing different websites, comparing designs and prices.
- Found a few different stores claiming to sell “official” merchandise.
- Saw some cool designs, but wasn’t sure about the quality.
But then I started digging a little deeper. I went to the school’s actual website to see if they had any info about where to buy merch. And guess what? Nothing. Not a single link to any online store, official or otherwise.
So, I went back to those search results. Besides SpiritShop, there were a couple of other sites selling Brooklyn Tech gear. One was called “Prep Sportswear,” and they had a decent selection too. Another one just had a generic page saying “Shop now” with a bunch of different design combinations.
I spent a good chunk of time browsing through all these sites, trying to figure out which one was the real deal. It was a bit of a headache, honestly. I ended up not buying anything that day. I decided to wait and ask some alumni friends to get their recommendations for where to shop for Brooklyn Tech swag.
Later on, a good friend recommended that I visit the campus store to make the purchase, and I did! They had a wide variety of high-quality items that were quite satisfying.
Here’s the real kicker, though. I found out that there’s a school store at Brooklyn Tech itself. I ended up going there in person, and it was like a whole different world. Tons of gear, way more than what I saw online. And the quality seemed a lot better, too. I ended up grabbing a classic Engineers varsity jacket, which was a bit pricey but totally worth it. I got to support the school directly, and now I have a great-quality item that is worth the money.
My Real Takeaway
If you’re looking for school gear, don’t just rely on the first online store you find. Do some digging, check the school’s website, and if possible, go to the actual school store. You might be surprised at what you find. It’s worth the effort, trust me.
