Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this place, the PNW Sports Institute. Don’t rightly know what all them fancy letters stand for, but I reckon it’s a place for fixin’ folks up, you know? Like when you fall and twist somethin’ or your back starts achin’ somethin’ fierce.
They say they’re part of somethin’ called OPT, been around for donkey’s years, like 40 years or somethin’. Must be doin’ somethin’ right if they’ve been at it that long. They’re in the Pacific Northwest, down there in Covington, Washington. Easy enough to find, I reckon.
Now, they don’t just fix up them sporty types. They say they help all sorts, young and old, no matter if you can run like a deer or just hobble around like me. That’s good, real good. ‘Cause ain’t nobody got time for bein’ laid up, especially when there’s chores to do and mouths to feed.
- They got this physical therapy, which I guess is like helpin’ you move better.
- And then there’s somethin’ called occupational therapy. Sounds fancy, but I heard it helps you do your everyday stuff, like buttonin’ your shirt or makin’ a sandwich.
- They even got somethin’ for your hands, hand therapy they call it. Good for when you get arthritis, I bet.
And get this, they got a pool! A warm one, too. They call it a therapeutic Endless Pool, 92 degrees they say. Sounds like heaven for achy bones, don’t it? I bet it feels real nice on a cold day.
They also do massage therapy. Now, that’s somethin’ I can get behind. Nothin’ like a good rubdown to loosen up them tight muscles. And they give out free pre-hab kits. Don’t rightly know what that is, but free is always good. And free injury screenings too. So you can get yourself checked out without spendin’ a fortune. That’s real important these days, everything costs a pretty penny.
They’re in Covington, yeah, but they also help folks from Auburn and Kent, so they say. That’s good for them folks, saves ’em a long drive. They got all sorts of folks workin’ there, they call them ‘em “Physical Therapists”, “Occupational Therapists” so on and so forth. I don’t know, long as they fix you up I guess it doesn’t matter what you call ‘em.

I heard tell they got good reviews too, folks seem to like ’em. That’s important, you know? Word of mouth is everything in a small town, or even a big place like Covington I guess. You don’t wanna go to some quack who’ll just make things worse. You want someone who knows what they’re doin’ and cares about their patients. This place sounds like they might just fit the bill.
So, if you’re feelin’ poorly, all achy and stiff, maybe give these folks a try. The PNW Sports Institute, powered by OPT. Like I said, I don’t know what all them fancy letters mean, but they sound like they know how to get you back on your feet. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
They’re down there on SE 271st Street. Can’t miss it, I reckon. Just look for the place that looks like it can fix you up. And if you see that warm pool, tell ’em I sent ya. Maybe they’ll let me take a dip!
PNW Sports Institute seems like a good place to go if you need help gettin’ better. They fix all kinds of folks, not just athletes. They got lots of different ways to help you, like therapy and massages. And they even got a warm pool! They’ve been around for a long time, so they must be doin’ somethin’ right. So, if you’re hurtin’, give ’em a try. You might just feel better.
And that’s about all I know about ‘em. Don’t take my word for it, though. Go see for yourself. Just thought I’d share what I heard tell. Never hurts to know where to go when you need a little help, you know? Especially when you get to be my age, things start to fall apart a little bit.
