Alright, let’s talk about World 4. Man, that place gave me a headache for a good while. When I first got there, I just tried pushing straight through, you know? Seemed like the obvious way.
Well, that didn’t work out so great. I kept running into that big cluster of tough guys right after the broken bridge. Wasted so much time and health packs trying to brute force my way past them. Then there were those annoying jumping puzzles over the acid pits – my timing was always off, ended up restarting more times than I can count.

After getting slammed repeatedly, I figured there had to be another way. I started just poking around, exploring the edges of the map instead of charging ahead. Went back to the start area, looked around real careful this time.
Finding a Sneakier Route
And guess what? Found this little hidden path behind some breakable rocks near the first checkpoint. Totally missed it the first dozen times. It looked kinda sketchy, went down into a darker cave section.
So, here’s what I did, step-by-step pretty much:
- Right at the start, before you even see the main path fork, look to your immediate left. There’s a wall that looks solid, but a couple of hits break it open.
- Go inside. It’s dark, yeah, but stick to the right wall. You’ll avoid most of the weak critters in there.
- There’s a simple little lever puzzle. Took me a minute, but it opens a shortcut door. This is key.
- This door pops you out way past that first big group of tough enemies I mentioned earlier. Huge time and resource saver.
- From there, you gotta deal with a couple of sentries, but it’s way more manageable than the main route’s mob.
- Then, very important, when you see the path split again near the acid pits, take the high ground route. There are fewer tricky jumps up there. It looks longer, but it’s safer.
- Follow that upper path around. You’ll eventually drop down right near the final boss gate for World 4.
Why I reckon this is the best path:
It’s not necessarily the absolute fastest if you’re some pro speedrunner, maybe. But for a regular player just trying to get through without pulling their hair out? This path works wonders. You skip the most frustrating enemy pile-up completely. You dodge the worst of the platforming sections. It felt way more consistent once I figured it out.
Took a lot of trial and error, just messing around and seeing what happened. But yeah, hitting that breakable wall early and taking the cave shortcut? Game changer for me in World 4. Made the whole experience way less painful.
