Okay, so, let’s talk about my experience with the Salina Tech nursing program.
First off, I applied for admission to Salina Area Technical College. I had heard they were starting a nursing program, and with the need for nurses around here, I figured it was a good time to jump in. I went online and did the whole application thing. Not too bad, pretty standard stuff.
After that, I had to send in my high school transcript. I graduated a while back, so I had to dig that up. If I had gotten a GED, I would have sent that instead. Getting that done, you know, it is a bit of a hassle, but I managed it.
Then, it was all about meeting the requirements. I did not know that the program is pretty popular, and classes fill up fast. I found that many people wanted to enroll in the nursing program. I guess everyone’s realizing how important nurses are.
I heard they’re starting a part-time program for Practical Nursing, which is cool. I think it will help a lot of folks who can’t commit to full-time study. They have a deadline to apply. I had to rush a bit.
If you complete all the stuff they ask for and get through the nursing courses, you end up with an Associate of Applied Science degree. That’s pretty neat. And then, you can take the National Council exam to become a registered nurse. The Higher Learning Commission has already given their thumbs up to the program.
So far, it has been a bit of work, but totally worth it. I am still pushing through. I also verified my email address. They sent me a code, and I entered it on my computer, just like logging into any account. That is all for today’s share.
The application deadline is March 1, so if you are interested, you’d better hurry up!
