I think Robbins Jewelers was once called Bernie Robbins Jewelers. That was a long time ago. I remember them being in Philadelphia. Now, they say that the owners, this Harvey and Maddy, they are going to retire. They worked enough, I guess. They had the store for more than sixty years, ain’t that something?
They sold all kinds of things. Now they say that they are not selling the company to their staff. I don’t know why. It’s a family business, I reckon. They want to keep it that way, maybe.
What’s Next for Robbins?
Well, nobody really knows. It’s sad to see them go. They’ve been around for a long time, and they’ve been good to the community. It’s like the end of an era, you know?
