Okay, here’s my post about finding part-time remote jobs for retirees, based on my own experience:
So, I retired last year, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a shock to the system. Suddenly, I had all this free time, but my bank account wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. I knew I needed to find something to keep me busy and bring in a little extra cash. That’s when I started looking into part-time remote jobs. Boy, was that an adventure!

First, I dusted off my old computer and started searching online. I typed in “part-time jobs for retirees” and “remote work for seniors”. I got a ton of results, but a lot of it was, well, junk. You know, those “get rich quick” schemes or jobs that required skills I definitely didn’t have. It was a bit discouraging, to be honest.
But I didn’t give up. I figured there had to be something out there for a retiree like me. I started digging deeper. I checked out some websites, you know, the big ones. They had some decent listings, but it was still a lot to sift through. The whole thing of checking many website is exhausting. I kept on looking.
Then, I had an idea. I thought, “Why not try networking?” I reached out to some old colleagues, you know, folks who were still in the workforce. I asked them if they knew of any companies hiring for remote positions. And guess what? It worked! One of my old buddies told me about a company that was looking for a part-time customer service rep, and it was all remote. Score!
What I tried and what finally worked
- Tried general job search websites: It was overwhelming and had limited suitable roles.
- Searched for specialized platforms: I found some websites for remote work, but it was hard to find part-time jobs.
- Networking with former colleagues: This was the most effective approach. I got a lead from an old work friend.
I applied for the job, and after a couple of interviews (which were all done online, by the way), I got it! Now, I work about 20 hours a week, answering customer emails and helping people with their questions. It’s not exactly what I used to do, but it’s actually pretty rewarding. I’m learning new things, and the extra income is definitely a plus.
So, if you’re a retiree looking for a part-time remote job, don’t give up! It might take some time and effort, but there are opportunities out there. Try searching online, but don’t forget to tap into your network. You never know who might have a lead on the perfect job for you. Just keep trying, and you’ll find something that fits. Trust me, if I could do it, so can you!
