Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about eatin’ good at that fancy Outback place. You know, the one with the bloomin’ onion and all that. I heard some folks sayin’ you can’t eat healthy there, but that ain’t necessarily true. Just gotta know what to look for, you hear?

First off, don’t go orderin’ everything fried. I mean, it’s tasty and all, but that’s how you get a belly ache and a big ol’ bill. That bloomin’ onion? Yeah, it’s huge. You can try a bite or two if others order it. Better yet, skip it! They got stuff that’s way better for ya.

Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ healthy, go for the grilled chicken. They call it “Grilled Chicken on the Barbie,” somethin’ like that. It’s just plain chicken, cooked on the grill. Tell ’em to hold the barbecue sauce, or get it on the side. That sauce, it’s got a lot of sugar and salt, you don’t need all that. You can put a little on if you want, but don’t drown it, you hear?

  • Grilled Chicken on the Barbie: Ask for no sauce or sauce on the side.
  • Grilled Shrimp: Not too much, but they are pretty good for you.
  • Veggies: Get extra veggies, they fill ya up and they’re good for ya.

And don’t forget about the veggies. They got steamed veggies, you can ask for those. Or get a salad, but watch out for the dressin’. Lots of them dressings are full of fat and sugar. They got this light balsamic one, or a tangy tomato one, those are better choices. Or, just get oil and vinegar, like we do at home. If you really want that ranch or Caesar, get it on the side and just use a tiny bit, you hear? Don’t be pourin’ it on like it’s water, that’s how they get ya.

Now, some folks like that fish, the Ahi tuna they call it. It’s seared, not fried, so that’s a good thing. But they put pepper on it, so if you don’t like pepper, you might not like it. I tried it once, it wasn’t bad. But I still like that grilled chicken better, myself.

Steak, now that’s what they’re known for, right? You can get a steak, but try to get a smaller one, not one of those giant ones. And don’t eat the whole thing, save some for later. They got sirloin, that’s not too fatty. Or a filet, that’s a good one too. Just try to stay away from all the extra butter and sauces they put on it, you don’t need all that. A plain steak is a good steak.

You wanna know what’s really bad for ya? All that fried stuff. French fries, onion rings, all that. And those loaded baked potatoes, with all that cheese and bacon and sour cream? Lordy, that’ll kill ya. Just get a plain baked potato, or some sweet potato. Those are better for you. They got butter, but just put a little bit on, you don’t need a whole tub of it.

And don’t be drinkin’ all those sugary drinks, neither. Soda, sweet tea, all that stuff is just sugar water. Drink water, or unsweetened tea. That’s what I do. It saves ya money, too.

Now, some folks are all worried about calories and carbs and all that. I don’t know much about that, but I do know that eating too much of anything ain’t good for ya. And all that greasy, fried food? That’s just gonna make you feel tired and sluggish. You want energy, you gotta eat good food.

So, there you have it. You can eat healthy at the Outback, you just gotta be smart about it. Stick to the grilled stuff, the veggies, and don’t go crazy with the sauces and dressings. And watch those portions, they like to give you a lot of food. Just eat until you’re full, then stop. Don’t force yourself to eat everything on your plate, that’s how you get a big belly.

They got menus online, you can look at ’em before you go. See what they got, and what looks good to you. And don’t be afraid to ask the waiter questions. They’re there to help you. Just remember, eat good, feel good, that’s what I always say. And don’t let them fancy restaurants fool ya, there’s always somethin’ healthy you can eat, if you just look for it.

Oh and one more thing. Some of that stuff, it changes from place to place. They got different things on the menu in different parts of the country, or so I hear. So, just keep your eyes open, and don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. But always remember, grilled is better than fried, and veggies are your friends.
