Alright, let’s talk about this Salina Tech nursing program thing, you know? I heard folks talking, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, the way I see it.

Now, they got this, what they call, Associate Degree Nursing program. Sounds fancy, huh? ADN, they call it for short. Basically, it’s like, you go there, you learn to be a nurse. Not a doctor, mind you, but a nurse. You know, the ones who give you shots and make sure you take your pills.
From what I gather, the folks over at Salina Tech, they’re real proud of this program. They should be, I guess. Takes a lot of smarts to be a nurse, I reckon. All them needles and medicines, it ain’t easy.
And get this, they’re starting a new thing, a part-time program for Practical Nursing. That’s good, I say. Not everyone can go to school full-time, you know? Some folks got jobs, got kids, got to keep the farm running. So, this part-time thing, it’s good for them busy bees.
- Full-time ADN: For the young’uns, maybe, or folks who got the time.
- Part-time Practical Nursing: For the rest of us, who got other stuff going on.
I hear tell they just got this whole thing approved by some big shots, the Higher Learning Commission, they call ‘em. Said it was okay to start this Associate of Applied Science in Nursing thing this fall. Fall, that’s when the leaves start fallin’, right? So, it’s new, this program, fresh off the stove, so to speak.
Now, I don’t know much about Ivy Tech, but I heard they got a nursing program too. And it sounds like it’s tough to get into. Selective admissions process, that’s what they say. Sounds like you gotta be real smart to go there. Maybe Salina Tech ain’t so picky, I don’t know. But hey, a nurse is a nurse, right? As long as they know what they’re doing, that’s all that matters.

So, if you’re thinking about becoming a nurse, Salina Tech might be a good place to go. They got the full-time thing, the part-time thing, and it’s all official and approved and all that. Just make sure you’re ready to work hard. Nursing ain’t no walk in the park, I tell ya. It’s hard work, but it’s good work. Help people, you know?
And listen, don’t you go thinking this is just for young folks. I seen plenty of older gals going back to school, getting their degrees. Never too late to learn something new, I say. If you got the itch to be a nurse, scratch it! Go on down to Salina Tech and see what they got to offer.
They got good teachers, that’s what I hear. Folks who know their stuff and are willing to teach it to you. And that’s important, you know? You don’t want no greenhorn teaching you how to give a shot. You want someone who knows what they’re doing, someone you can trust. So, that’s good, real good.
And it ain’t just about the book learning neither. You gotta get your hands dirty, you gotta practice. They got labs, I reckon, where you can practice giving shots and stuff. And then you gotta go to the hospital and work with real patients. That’s the scary part, but that’s how you learn.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about the Salina Tech nursing program. It’s a good program, I think. Hard work, but worth it. If you’re thinking about becoming a nurse, go check it out. You might just find your calling.

And remember, it don’t matter where you come from or how old you are. If you got the heart and the head for it, you can be a nurse. So, go on, give it a shot! You might surprise yourself.
