Okay, so yesterday I finally checked out the MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture, here in Seattle. I’d been meaning to go for ages, and I gotta say, it was pretty cool!
First off, I grabbed my ticket online the night before. Saved a few bucks that way, which is always a win. Getting there was easy, I just hopped on the monorail – felt very futuristic, haha.

The Building Itself Is Wild!
Seriously, you can’t miss it. It’s all curvy and shiny, like a giant, melted guitar or something. I spent a good ten minutes just walking around the outside, taking pictures. Designed by Frank Gehry, so good!
Inside the Museum
Once I got inside, I headed straight for the music exhibits. They have a whole section on the history of the electric guitar, with some seriously iconic instruments. I saw guitars that belonged to Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and a bunch of other legends. Total guitar geek-out moment for me.
- Wandered through the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.
- Checked out costumes and props from famous movies and TV shows.
- Saw lightsabers, spaceships, and even a Dalek from Doctor Who!
There’s also a really cool sound lab where you can play around with different instruments and mixing equipment. I spent way too long in there, trying to make a decent beat (spoiler: I failed miserably, but it was fun!).
Honestly, I could have spent all day there. There’s so much to see and do, and it’s all really interactive and engaging. If you’re ever in Seattle, I definitely recommend checking out MoPOP. Just wear comfy shoes, because you’ll be doing a lot of walking!
