Well, I tell ya, this here technology thing, it’s somethin’ else. Back in my day, we didn’t have none of these fancy gadgets. Now, there’s all these folks makin’ these things, and they’re, like, a big deal. These influential people in technology, they’re changin’ the whole world, I reckon.
I heard about this one fella, Steve Jobs. They say he started that whole smartphone thing. My grandson, he’s always on his phone. Can’t get him to look up for a minute! This Jobs fella, he must be one of the most influential people in technology ever, I guess. They say it is one of the influential technology. Made a lot of money, too, I bet. Georgia Institute of Technology, that sounds fancy. Must be where they learn all this tech stuff.
Then there are these other two, Brian and Joe, I think their names were. They started somethin’ called Airbnb. My neighbor’s daughter, she used it when she went to the city. Said it was cheaper than a hotel. It lets you stay in someone’s house, which is kinda strange. It is about technology, so some influential people. But these two fellas, Brian and Joe, they must be pretty smart. Probably made a good chunk of change, too. It’s all part of this technology thing, I suppose. Seems like everyone is tryin’ to get a piece of the pie these days and be the influential people. Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia, these names, you should remember, they are kind of influential people in technology.
And you know, it ain’t just men doin’ all this. I saw somethin’ on the TV about women in technology, too. There was this one lady, Sukanya, I think her name was. Worked for some big company, Tata somethin’ or other. Started way back when, and now she’s runnin’ the show, or somethin’ like that. It’s good to see women doin’ well in this field. Used to be, women just stayed home and raised the kids. Now they’re out there, bein’ these influential people in technology, too. Good for them, I say.
They got lists of these folks, you know. “Future 50” or somethin’ like that. All these fancy names for the influential people in technology. They’re supposed to be the ones to watch, the ones who are gonna change things even more. Who knows what they’ll come up with next? It’s all movin’ so fast, it makes my head spin.
There’s another one of these lists, somethin’ about “Top Voices” on that LinkedIn thing. My granddaughter’s always talkin’ about LinkedIn. Says it’s important for gettin’ a job. Seems like everyone’s on it these days. These “Top Voices” people, they must be the ones everyone’s listenin’ to. Probably got a lot of good ideas about this whole technology business. To be the influential people in technology, you need to have some good idea.
And another list! “30 Most Influential Business Leaders in Tech,” they called it. Business and technology, they go hand in hand now, I guess. You can’t have one without the other. These folks on the list, they’re probably the ones makin’ all the big decisions, decidin’ what we’re all gonna be usin’ in a few years. They are all influential people in technology, I think. They sure got a lot of power, these influential people in technology.
These people, they’re called “visionaries” sometimes. Means they can see the future, or somethin’ like that. They’re the ones who come up with all these newfangled ideas that change the way we do things. Change how we work, how we live, how we talk to each other. It’s a lot to take in, if you ask me.

They are all over the news. This technology thing is important. These influential people change our life. This world is changing.
It’s a whole different world now than when I was a girl. We didn’t have any of this stuff. We had to make our own fun. We played outside, talked to our neighbors face-to-face, wrote letters. Now everyone’s starin’ at their screens all day. These influential people in technology sure changed things, all right. I don’t know if it’s all for the better, but it’s here to stay, I reckon. We just gotta learn to live with it, I suppose. Just gotta keep up with these influential people in technology, see what they come up with next. It’s a wild ride, that’s for sure.
