Okay, so today I decided to check out the Fish Hawk Sports Complex. I’d heard some good things about it, and with the kids getting more into sports, I figured it was time to see it for myself.
First thing I did was try to find out where this place actually was. I hit up the internet, you know, usual searching around. Finally, I found the location and general idea of what it has to offer.
So, we packed up the car – snacks, water bottles, the whole nine yards. It was a bit of a drive, maybe 30 minutes or so? Traffic wasn’t too bad, thankfully.
When we got there, the first thing that hit me was just how big it was. I mean, this place is massive! There were fields everywhere. We saw soccer, baseball, and I think even some lacrosse going on.
- Tons of soccer fields.
- Multiple baseball diamonds, all different sizes.
- Some other fields that I couldn’t quite identify, but there were people playing on them!
We wandered around a bit, trying to get our bearings. The kids were immediately drawn to the playground area, of course. It was pretty decent – your standard slides and swings, nothing too fancy, but it kept them entertained for a while.
I was mostly interested in checking out the condition of the fields. From what I could see, they seemed pretty well-maintained. The grass was green, no obvious potholes or anything. I saw some people setting up for a baseball game, and the infield looked nicely groomed.
Overall Impressions
It’s a great place if you’ve got kids in sports, or if you’re into sports yourself. Plenty of space, lots of different activities going on. It’s got a nice family feel to it.
I definitely drove away today feeling very statisfied from the things I saw.

Next time, I think we’ll try to catch an actual game. It would be fun to see the place in full swing, with all the energy of a real competition. Plus, I’m pretty sure they have a concession stand, and who doesn’t love a good ballpark hotdog?
