Alright, so I heard whispers about this place, folks calling it the “hardest escape room in the world”. You know me, I like a challenge, gets the old brain working. Didn’t believe the hype at first, thought it was just talk. But the more I heard, the more curious I got. Decided I had to see for myself.
Got a couple of buddies together, ones who are usually pretty sharp with puzzles. We figured, between the three of us, we could crack anything. Booked a slot – that itself felt like solving a mini-puzzle, finding the right contact, very hush-hush.

Showing Up and Getting Started
We arrived at this nondescript building. No fancy signs, nothing. Just an address. Met by a guy who didn’t say much, just gave us a waiver and a very, very brief rundown. Basically, “Get in, clock starts, figure it out. Good luck.” No theme intro, no story, just… go. That already felt different, kinda threw us off.
Stepped inside. Pitch black. Took a minute for our eyes to adjust. The room, or rooms, we later found out, wasn’t filled with fancy props like some places. It was stark. Minimalist. Made finding clues even tougher because there wasn’t much to search through. Everything felt deliberate, and annoyingly obscure.
The Grind Inside
Man, the first thirty minutes were brutal. We found almost nothing. Just walked around, bumping into walls, feeling surfaces. Found a loose brick eventually. Classic, right? But what was behind it wasn’t a key, it was another riddle, written in some weird symbols we didn’t recognize. Total head-scratcher.
We split up, then regrouped, arguing a bit, you know how it goes under pressure. One guy focused on the symbols, me and the other friend started looking for patterns in the room itself. Light switches that didn’t work, weird marks on the floor. It felt less like solving puzzles and more like deciphering a madman’s leftovers.
- Found a hidden compartment using sound – had to tap walls in a specific sequence.
- Solved a logic puzzle that needed info scattered across three different spots, one hidden in plain sight but painted to blend in.
- Dealt with a pressure plate puzzle that required exact weight distribution. Took ages.
The clock was just relentless. Every tick felt like a hammer blow. We’d get a small win, figure out one step, and feel like geniuses for about ten seconds. Then, boom, hit another wall. The puzzles didn’t flow logically from one to the next like in most rooms. It was disjointed, almost chaotic. Felt like they really didn’t want anyone to finish.
Did We Make It?
Nope. Not even close. When the timer buzzed, we were maybe halfway through what we think was the second main area. The guy came back in, flicked on the normal lights (which revealed even more stuff we’d missed!), and just nodded. No “Ah, you were close!” or anything. Just opened the door and let us out.
Walking out felt weird. Partly frustrated, partly amazed at how tough it actually was. It lived up to the name, I’ll give it that. It wasn’t “fun” in the typical escape room sense. It was a genuine, hardcore challenge. Definitely humbling.

Was it worth it? Yeah, I think so. If you like getting your butt kicked by a puzzle designer and really testing your limits, maybe give it a shot. But don’t expect smiles and high-fives. Expect pain. And probably failure. But hey, that’s the story, right?
