So, let me tell you about this thing with Comcast and trying to get beIN SPORTS. It all started a while back. There was this big soccer match, you know, one of those everyone was talking about, and I really wanted to catch it live. Figured, hey, I’ve got cable, should be simple, right?
First thing I did was grab that Comcast remote. You know the one. I plopped down on the couch, turned on the TV, and started my search. I pressed the ‘Guide’ button, hoping to see it pop right up. Then I remembered you can search. So, I tried punching in what I thought might be the channel number, just guessing a few sports-sounding numbers. Nothing. Then I used that feature where you can type in the channel name. Slowly, letter by letter, typed out “beIN SPORTS”. The search came up empty. I saw all the usual channels, you know, the local ones, some news, and a whole bunch of those shopping channels like HSN and QVC that they always seem to give you. But the one I wanted? Nowhere to be found.
At this point, I started to think, “Okay, maybe it’s not in my current package.” I couldn’t even remember what package I was signed up for, it had been so long. So, the next step was to check my billing statement. I usually just pay it without looking too closely, but this time I pulled up my account online. Logged in, clicked around through a few menus until I found the details of my TV plan.
And there it was. Or rather, there it wasn’t. My package was pretty basic. It had the essentials, sure, but premium sports channels like beIN SPORTS were definitely not part of the deal. It was clear I’d have to add it if I wanted to watch it.
