Okay, today I tried to mess around with the Lib Tech logo. I’m not a designer or anything, just a regular dude who likes snowboarding, you know?
First, I searched online for the logo. I found a bunch of images, some were PNGs, some were vectors. It looks like it can be found at their official website, but they were selling tee shirts and hoodies which are too expensive. I noticed there’s a company called “Mervin Manufacturing” that seems to be the big boss behind Lib Tech, GNU, and some other brands. Kinda cool to know the family tree of these snowboarding companies.

Then I tried downloading a few versions of the logo. I also found some stickers on some snowboarding gear websites, they look awesome. There are some online stores selling their products. One was a simple black and white one, and another was a bit more colorful, with a mountain-ish design inside the letters. They all look pretty neat.
- Downloaded a simple black and white version.
- Downloaded a colored version with mountain-like design.
- Downloaded a picture from a sticker product.
I wanted to see if I could put the logo on some of my snowboarding pictures. So, I opened up a simple image editor. I’m no expert at this, so I just tried to slap the logo onto a picture of me on the mountain. It looks kinda funny, but hey, it was fun to try.
I also tried to change the colors of the logo a bit. I made the black and white one into a blue and white one, just to match the sky in my picture. It’s not perfect, but it was a good way to kill some time and play around with something related to snowboarding, even when I’m not on the slopes.
Ended up making a few different versions. I have one with the simple logo, one with the colorful one. Also, made one with a sticker I found online. They’re not gonna win any design awards, but I had a blast making them. It made me appreciate the work that goes into these logos a bit more. It’s easy to just see them and not think about the effort behind them.
Overall, it was a fun little project. It’s cool to see how just a logo can represent a whole brand and community. Maybe next time I’ll try to design my own snowboarding sticker or something. Who knows? The possibilities are endless, even for a non-designer like me. Just gotta keep experimenting and having fun with it.
That’s all from me today. Stay safe, everyone!
