Okay, so today I decided to check out the King George Health Department. I’ve been meaning to get some info on local health resources, and figured this was the place to start.
First, I looked up their operating hours online. It looks like they are open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. I prefer go there early in the morning, so it wouldn’t be too crowded.

My Visit
This morning, I drove over to the health department. When get into the building, a friendly lady at the front desk greeted me and asked how she could help.
I told her I was interested in general health information and any resources available to county residents. She handed me a bunch of pamphlets and brochures – stuff on vaccinations, flu shots, family planning, and even some info on WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) programs.
- Vaccination schedules
- Flu shot clinics
- Family planning services
- WIC program details
I also asked about getting a copy of my immunization records. She explained the process, which involved filling out a request form and providing some ID. It seemed pretty straightforward, I complete the form and show my driver’s license, then she quickly help me print it.
Overall, it was a pretty smooth experience. Everyone was helpful, and I got all the information I needed. I’m glad I finally went and checked it out. It’s good to know these resources are available in our community.
