Well, folks, today I’m gonna talk about something that’s been on my mind lately – the Big Lots going out of business sale. I heard the news last month, somewhere around December 19th, that Big Lots was starting their “going out of business” sales, you know, the GOB thing. It got me thinking, “Hey, maybe I can snag some good deals on furniture!” So, I decided to check it out.
First thing I did, I hopped onto their website. I saw they had a sitewide sale going on, up to 50% off! That’s a pretty sweet deal, right? I browsed through their furniture section, looking for some good stuff for my living room. I spotted a comfy-looking couch and a nice coffee table that caught my eye.

After checking online, I thought, “Why not go to the store and see things in person?” So, I drove down to my local Big Lots. Walking in, I could see the “Going Out of Business” signs everywhere. It was kinda sad to see a big store like that closing down, but hey, their loss could be my gain, right?
I went straight to the furniture section. The couch and coffee table I saw online were right there. I tried out the couch, and man, it was comfortable! I checked the price tag, and with the discount, it was a steal. Same for the coffee table, it looked sturdy and the price was just right.
I also looked around the store some more. They had discounts on all sorts of things – home decor, kitchen stuff, you name it. I ended up grabbing a few extra things that caught my eye, like some nice curtains and a couple of lamps. Everything was marked down, so I figured, “Why not?”
My Purchases:
- Couch: Super comfy and a great deal with the discount.
- Coffee Table: Sturdy, looks good, and the price was right.
- Curtains: Found some nice ones that match my living room.
- Lamps: Picked up a couple to brighten up the place.
All in all, I’d say it was a successful shopping trip. I got some great deals on furniture and a few other things. It’s a shame that Big Lots is closing, but I’m glad I could take advantage of their sale. If you’re looking for some good deals, you might want to check out your local Big Lots before they’re gone for good. You never know what you might find!
