Okay, so today I decided to check out that “Children’s World Preschool” that just opened up down the street. I’ve been thinking about preschool options for little Timmy, and this place is super close, so I figured, why not?
First, I walked over there this morning. It’s in that new little building next to the bakery, the one with the bright blue door. I gotta say, it looked pretty cute from the outside. Lots of colorful decorations and a little playground in the back.
When I went inside, I was greeted by a woman named Sarah, who I think is the director. She seemed really nice and friendly, super patient with all my questions (and I had a LOT). She showed me around the place.
The Tour
- Classrooms: They have three classrooms, divided by age groups. The rooms were bright and cheerful, filled with toys and learning materials. Everything looked clean and organized, which is a big plus for me.
- Playground: The outdoor playground was pretty small, but it had all the essentials – a slide, swings, and a little climbing structure. Timmy would love it. Sarah said they also have an indoor play area for rainy days.
- Activities: Sarah explained their daily schedule. It seemed like a good mix of playtime, learning activities, and even some music and art. They have circle time, story time, and they even do some basic counting and letter recognition with the older kids.
After the tour, Sarah and I sat down and talked about the curriculum and their teaching philosophy. They seem to focus a lot on play-based learning, which I really like. They also emphasized social and emotional development, which is important for little ones.
I also asked about things like class sizes, teacher-to-student ratios, and safety procedures. Everything sounded pretty good. The class sizes are small, the teachers are all certified, and they have a secure entry system.
Finally, we discussed tuition and availability. They have a few spots open in Timmy’s age group, and the tuition seemed reasonable compared to other preschools in the area.
Overall, I was really impressed with Children’s World Preschool. I picked up an application packet, and I’m going to talk it over with my husband tonight. I think Timmy would really like it there. It felt like a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment. I’m seriously considering enrolling him!
