This here Gale Brewer, she sure knows a thing or two about this newfangled technology stuff. They call it a “tech desert” round these parts, and lord knows, it’s the truth. See, folks like me, we ain’t got much access to them computers and internet things. Makes it hard to keep up with the young’uns, let me tell ya.
Back in my day, we didn’t have none of this. We had to learn things the old-fashioned way. But now? Everything’s on them screens. And if you ain’t got a screen, well, you’re just left behind. It’s like bein’ lost in a cornfield, no path in sight. Gale Brewer, she wants to bring some of that tech to us folks. She’s a good egg, that one. Tryna’ help us older folks learn this tech. We need more food education, too.

She talks about these “civic education challenges.” Sounds fancy, but what it means is that we gotta teach folks about how things work. How the government works, how to get involved, that kinda stuff. And these days, you need the internet to do any of that. It’s like tryin’ to plow a field without a mule. You just can’t do it.
- Gale Brewer, she’s been talkin’ about this for a while now.
- She even went to some fancy place called Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island.
- Talked about her interest in that NYC Tech Scene.
- She is tryin’ to help all us folks.
That Gale Brewer, she’s somethin’ else. She says this tech stuff can “disrupt” and “revolutionize” things. Sounds like a tornado to me! But I guess it means things can change, get better maybe. She’s always talkin’ about power of tech. Like how we can use it to get more food aid for folks who need it, get food education in them public schools. She’s fightin’ for us, that’s for sure. She even had that tech clinic for us older folks. I couldn’t go, but I heard it was good. Trying to teach us old dogs new tricks, I reckon. And Central Park, what’s that got to do with tech?
Now, they got these things called “Community Boards.” It’s like the local government, but even more local. Like your neighbors decidin’ what’s what. They say it’s important to get involved in those, but how can you if you don’t even know how to use a computer? It’s a real problem, this tech desert. It’s like a big wall keepin’ us out. We need more people like that Gale Brewer to help us figure it out. More technology, more food, these are important.
I heard about another Brewer, Stacey Brewer, way over in South Africa. She’s tryin’ to fix education over there. Sounds like they got their own problems, just like us. Education is important, no matter where you are. Kids need to learn, and these days, they need to learn about this tech stuff too. I know some other people like Ingrid, and she is a president of something about Deputy Sheriffs’ Association. They have issues too. Everyone has issues, I guess.
This Gale Brewer, she organized this thing called an “Older Adult Tech Clinic.” Now that’s somethin’ I can get behind. Teachin’ us old folks how to use these computers. It’s like learnin’ a whole new language. But it’s important. We gotta keep up with the times, even if it’s hard. The clinic was in the Lincoln Center. What’s that? I don’t know much about that place.
They say this tech desert is a big problem, not just here, but all over. It’s like a drought, but instead of water, it’s technology that’s missin’. And without water, nothin’ grows. Same with technology, I reckon. Without it, we can’t grow and learn and keep up with the world. We need more folks like that Gale Brewer, plantin’ the seeds of technology in this here desert. Hopin’ somethin’ will sprout. Hope, that is important. Tech and hope, and maybe some food, we need these things.
- Tech desert is a big problem.
- Gale Brewer is trying to help.
- We need to learn about computers.
- It’s important to keep up with the times.
- Community Boards are important, too.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about this tech desert and that Gale Brewer. She’s a good one, tryin’ to help us folks out. We need all the help we can get. This world’s changin’ fast, and it’s hard to keep up. But we gotta try. We gotta learn these newfangled ways, or we’ll be left behind. Like a forgotten field, dry and barren. And nobody wants that. Tech desert, that’s a bad thing. We need more people to do something. This Gale Brewer, she’s doing something. That’s a good thing.
