Today I wanted to figure out the calendar thing for Pickens Technical College. It wasn’t too hard, but I did run into a few hiccups.
First, I went to the college’s website. It was easy to find their homepage. But then I started to dig deeper and realized they don’t really spell things out super clearly for the average joe.
I noticed they had some information about tuition, which is apparently due before you start classes. Good to know, I guess. They also mentioned that the amount you pay depends on whether you’re a Kentucky resident and how many courses you are enrolled in. Makes sense, but nothing new.
Then I tried to find something like an actual calendar. I stumbled upon a section about the Owens Community College Academic Calendar. I guess they are somehow related? It basically just listed when classes start and end, and when the college is closed for holidays. Not very helpful for what I need. I need the Pickens calendar.
- So, I went back to the Pickens site and dug some more.
- Finally, I found a page with a calendar. But it was kind of buried in the site.
- It showed all the important dates – start of classes, holidays, breaks, you name it.
I printed out the calendar so I could have it handy. It was a bit of a process, but I got it done.
If you’re looking for the Pickens Technical College calendar, just be prepared to do a bit of searching on their website. It’s there, but you have to be patient to find it.
This is just my experience. Maybe they will update their website later to make it easier to find. Hopefully my little adventure will save someone some time in the future.
