Well, let me tell ya, this here hairdressing technology thing, it’s somethin’ else. Folks used to just snip and curl, now it’s all computers and whatnots.
I remember back in my day, getting your hair done was simple. You walked in, sat down, and told the lady what you wanted. Maybe showed her a picture from a magazine if you were fancy. Now? They got these here online bookings. You gotta go on the internet, clickity-clack, and pick a time. Honestly, sometimes I think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. But the young folks, they seem to like it, I guess.
And then there’s the salon management software. Sounds complicated, right? It is! They keep track of everything on the computer – your appointments, what color they used on your hair last time, even how much you tipped. Keeps everything organized, they say. Maybe it does, but I still prefer a good old-fashioned appointment book. You can see everything right there, plain as day.
- Booking Software: Like I said, them youngsters love this online stuff. Bookin’ appointments with a click of a button. Saves ’em a phone call, I reckon.
- Smart Tools: Now they got these fancy brushes and things that can tell you what kind of hair you got and what products to use. Sounds like hogwash to me, but what do I know? I just wash my hair and hope for the best.
- AI and AR: This is where it gets really crazy. They got computers that can look at your face and tell you what hairstyle would look good. And this “AR” thing, it lets you see what you’d look like with different hair colors and styles without even changing your hair. It’s like magic, but it’s just them computers doin’ their thing.
They even got these things called “point-of-sale” systems. Fancy way of sayin’ cash register, I think. But it does more than just take your money. It keeps track of sales, inventory, all that business stuff. I guess it helps them make more money, which is the whole point, ain’t it?
Consultations are still a big deal, though. You gotta talk to the hairdresser and tell ’em what you want. But now, some folks do it online. They send pictures and videos, talk on the phone, or even use video chat. It’s all very modern, you see. But nothin’ beats talkin’ face-to-face, in my opinion.
And when that there pandemic hit, oh boy, things got real interestin’. Folks couldn’t go to the salon, so they had to get creative. Some folks called up their hairdressers for private house calls. And then there was all this augmented reality stuff, where you could try on different hairstyles on your phone. It kept folks entertained, I guess.

This technology, it’s changin’ everything. It’s changin’ how they book appointments, how they do consultations, and even how they cut and style hair. It’s a whole new world, I tell ya. Sometimes it feels like too much, all this beepin’ and boopin’ and clickin’. But I guess you gotta keep up with the times, or you’ll get left behind. And nobody wants that, right?
So yeah, hairdressing technology, it’s a big deal. It helps the salons run smoother, helps the hairdressers do their job better, and maybe, just maybe, it even helps folks get better haircuts. Or at least, that’s what they tell me.
I still think a good pair of scissors and a steady hand are the most important things, but what do I know? I’m just an old lady who likes her hair done the old-fashioned way. But even I can see that this technology ain’t goin’ away anytime soon. So, I guess we all just gotta learn to live with it, huh?
Technology is changing how salons interact with clients. Everything from the first hello to the final goodbye is touched by some gadget or gizmo. It can be overwhelming, but it also opens up new possibilities. Who knows what they’ll come up with next? Maybe a robot that can cut and style your hair all by itself. Now that would be somethin’ wouldn’t it?
But no matter how fancy the technology gets, one thing will always be the same, you need to have a good stylist who knows what they’re doing. You can have all the gadgets in the world, but if you don’t have someone with skill and talent, it won’t matter one bit. So, find yourself a good hairdresser, and let them do their thing. Whether they use fancy technology or just good old-fashioned scissors, the most important thing is that you leave the salon feeling happy and confident.

And remember, a good conversation with your stylist is still the best way to get the haircut you want. So don’t be afraid to speak up and tell them what you like and don’t like. After all, it’s your hair, and you’re the one who has to wear it.
