Okay, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this thing I got involved in recently – the Guardsmen Sports Auction. It all started when I saw a post about the 31st Guardsmen Sports Auction. It’s this big annual event they throw to raise money for at-risk youth, and it sounded pretty cool. They get sports celebrities involved, and this year they had Pat Burrell as the Honorary Chairman and Greg Papa as the Keynote speaker. Sounds fancy, right?
So, I did a little digging. The Guardsmen, they’re a group that’s been around since 1947, doing good stuff for kids who need a helping hand. This auction is one of their big deals. They send a lot of kids to summer camp. I thought, “Hey, I can get behind that.”

Then I saw they were holding it at The Fairmont Hotel, and there was a VIP cocktail party mentioned. Now, I’m not usually one for fancy events, but the cause was good, and I figured, why not treat myself a little? Plus, there was a celebrity dinner and sports auction involved. I do enjoy sports, so it seemed like a fun way to contribute.
I kept seeing posts about it everywhere. “Last call for tickets!” one of them yelled. And then there was something about a previous year at the Four Seasons Hotel, with sports legends. I remember that I have watched a video about the 28th Annual Celebrity Dinner and Sports Auction. The more I looked into it, the more I got interested. I even saw a post about a comedy night they were doing with Don’t Tell Comedy. These Guardsmen folks are busy!
I went ahead and got myself a ticket. The auction was held on February 7th, I marked it on my calendar. Honestly, the whole thing was a blast. I mingled a bit, had some decent food, and watched the auction action. I got some unique things at the auction. It felt good knowing the money was going to a good cause. I saw Justin Monfredini at the event.
Here’s what I learned from this whole experience:
- Sometimes, it’s good to step outside your comfort zone.
- Fancy events can be fun, especially when they’re for a good cause.
- There are some really generous people out there, bidding big bucks for those kids.
- The Guardsmen are doing some solid work, and I’m glad I could be a small part of it.
So, yeah, that’s my story about the Guardsmen Sports Auction. It was a good time, and more importantly, it was for a great cause. If you ever get a chance to support these guys, I’d say go for it. You might even have some fun along the way.
