Alright, so listen up, y’all. We gotta talk about this fella, David Chen. Seems like a big shot, always mixed up in this politics stuff. Politics, politics, that’s all you hear about these days, ain’t it? Don’t know what to make of half of it, but I’ll tell ya what I do know, or what I heard anyways.
Now, this David Chen, he’s a reporter, see? Works for the New York Times, they say. Big fancy paper, always writin’ about them important things. He ain’t just any reporter, mind you. He’s a National reporter. Means he covers the whole country, not just some small town like ours. Heard he writes about them state lawmakers, the ones makin’ all the rules.
- State legislatures, they call ’em.
- Policies, too. Fancy word for rules, I reckon.
This fella, he’s been around. Used to write about sports, they tell me. Then he went on to writin’ about the city, then he joined up with the Associated Press. That’s another big news outfit. Now he’s stuck on this politics stuff. Must be important, I guess, seein’ as he’s been doin’ it for a good while now.
They say he was even writin’ about that abortion stuff. You know, whether it should be allowed or not. Real touchy subject, that one. Folks get all riled up talkin’ about it. He was trackin’ it in all them statehouses, seein’ what the lawmakers were doin’. Guess that’s part of his job, keepin’ an eye on them politicians.
I heard somewhere he even talked about somethin’ called “robo-calls.” Sounded like a bunch of nonsense to me. Somethin’ about a phone engineer out in California, Berkeley I think they said. Don’t even know where that is. But apparently, it had somethin’ to do with politics, so this David Chen, he was on it.
And get this, there’s another David Chen! This one’s a student at Columbia, learnin’ about Political Science. A young fella from Beijing, wherever that is. Maybe he’ll be a politician one day, who knows? Maybe he’ll even be one of them state lawmakers this other David Chen writes about. Small world, ain’t it?
Seems like this David Chen reporter, he’s always busy. Always chasin’ them politicians, writin’ about their doin’s. I don’t know much about politics, but I reckon it’s important. Affects our lives, they say. So maybe it’s good we got folks like this David Chen keepin’ an eye on ’em. Someone’s gotta make sure they ain’t up to no good, right?
Heard he wrote about some fella havin’ lots of money for his campaign. Used that money to make TV commercials, tryin’ to get folks to vote for him. One of them commercials was called “Choices.” Don’t know what choices he was talkin’ about, but I bet David Chen had somethin’ to say about it. He always seems to have somethin’ to say about these politicians.
So yeah, that’s the lowdown on this David Chen fella, as best as I can tell ya. He’s a reporter, writes about politics, and he seems to be pretty good at it. He’s been with the New York Times for a while, coverin’ all sorts of things. From sports to city news to now, this national politics. Always somethin’ new, I guess. Keeps him busy, that’s for sure. And that’s all I got to say about that.
