So, I’ve been on the hunt for this Chicago Cubs World Series baseball hat for a while now. You know, the one they wore when they finally broke the curse back in 2016? Yeah, that one. I wanted to add it to my collection, it is a memory, right?
First, I looked around at local sports stores. I drove to a couple of malls, checked out those big sporting goods places, and even popped into some smaller, independent shops. No luck. Plenty of Cubs hats, sure, but not the specific World Series one I was after. Struck out there.
Then I thought, “Okay, time to go online.” I spent hours scouring the internet. I checked every website I could think of and some online marketplaces, but they were either sold out or way too expensive. Like, seriously, some of these prices were insane!
I almost gave up, but then I remembered about these online auction sites. I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I signed up for a couple of them and started browsing. There were a few of the hats I was looking for, but the bidding was already pretty high.
I decided to place a bid on one that seemed promising. It was a bit of a gamble, but I really wanted that hat. I set my maximum bid and waited. It was a nail-biter, I kept checking my phone every few minutes. The auction was ending in like, 10 minutes, and I was still the highest bidder! Fingers crossed!

And guess what? I won! I actually won the auction! I couldn’t believe it. I finally got my hands on that Chicago Cubs World Series hat. It arrived in the mail a few days later, and it was perfect. It’s now one of my favorite item in my sports collection, now I need to find somewhere nice to keep it.
Persistence Pays Off!
It just goes to show, if you really want something, don’t give up. Keep looking, keep trying, and eventually, you’ll find it. It was not easy but finally done.
