So, I spent some time digging into Charles Barkley’s views on politics today. Man, that guy, I gotta say, he’s something else! I mean, he’s not afraid to speak his mind, right? I started by reading up on some of his recent comments.
First, I scrolled through a bunch of articles. I found that Barkley recently criticized both Democrats and the Harris campaign. He wasn’t happy with how they handled the election loss. He’s a straight shooter, that Barkley. Always has been, even in his playing days. I remember him as one of the most unique power forwards in NBA history. I mean, who else could play like that at 6-foot-4, right?

After that, I watched a clip of him on that show, you know, “Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?” He was dropping truth bombs left and right! He said that politicians are dividing people along racial lines for their own benefit. He called them out, saying poor people are just pawns in their game. Barkley’s got this way of saying things that just hits you, you know? I mean, he once said, “The only difference between a good shot and a bad shot is if it goes in or not.” Classic Barkley!
Some Thoughts
From what I gathered, Barkley is one of those guys who doesn’t fit into any neat political box. He’ll agree with some things the left says, but then he’ll turn around and criticize them just as hard. It’s like, he’s his own party or something. I also learned he’s not best buddies with Michael Jordan anymore. It seems like Barkley criticized Jordan’s management decisions on TV, and Jordan didn’t take it too well. They stopped being friends after that.
I also read about his career after retiring from the NBA. He’s been killing it as an analyst on TNT’s “Inside the NBA.” He’s won five Sports Emmy Awards for his work there. He’s got this crew with Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson. He even joked once that some gas couldn’t smell worse than Ernie’s gym bag. Man, this guy is hilarious!
