Okay, so today I messed around with this whole “use voice to text technology” thing for a crossword puzzle, and let me tell you, it was quite the ride.
I started off pretty clueless, to be honest. I mean, I’ve used voice-to-text on my phone before, but never really thought about how it could help with a crossword.

First, I just stared at the clue “use voice to text technology” in the crossword. I felt dumb. What could the answer be?
I then picked up my phone and tried to see how the voice to text function works. I talked, it typed. I did this a few times. Still didn’t get how this could help me solve the crossword.

Brainstorming
I started to brainstorm all the words related to voice to text function. I mumbled to myself, “speak”, “talk”, “type”… Nothing seemed to fit what I was imagining a crossword answer to be.

Googling Around
Then I thought, “Why not look this up on the internet?” So, I Googled the phrase “use voice to text technology crossword”.
I read through a bunch of different websites. Most of them were about how to solve crossword clues in general, nothing special. But then, some websites had the actual answer listed. It said the answer to “use voice-to-text technology” is “DICTATE”.

And suddenly, it clicked. “Dictate” totally makes sense. I slapped my forehead. Why didn’t I think of that? I guess my brain just wasn’t connecting the dots.
I filled in the answer in the crossword. Felt like a champion, even though I basically got the answer from the internet. Still counts, right?
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with voice-to-text and crosswords. It wasn’t exactly a groundbreaking experiment, but hey, I learned something new. And I got to feel smart for solving a crossword clue, even if it was just one.
Maybe I’ll try using voice-to-text to cheat on crosswords again sometime. Or maybe not, it did feel a little like cheating. We’ll see. Anyway, that’s all for now. Gotta go find another puzzle to solve!
