Today I’m gonna talk about what I saw about businesses on Lake City were closing. It’s kinda wild out there, man.
So, first off, I started noticing some changes when I drove by Lake City the other day. I live in Sugarhouse, and let me tell you, there are some shops closing. I heard from some folks that there’s not enough foot traffic to keep things going. People just ain’t walking around and shopping like they used to. Sad, but that’s what I picked up.

Then I did a bit more digging. I remembered reading something about a big retailer’s sale being on hold. I think it was Reuters that reported a teen fashion store was planning to close all of its 543 stores in the U.S. this year. That’s a huge number! Makes you wonder what’s really going on.
- I also heard about this restaurant that had to throw away almost $20 worth of food. Imagine that!
- And get this, I saw a date somewhere – May 1 in Salt Lake City.
- Seems like some guy, Anderson, just opened a new place in February 2023.
- Then there’s this Verlon Webb, who owns Webb’s Antique Mall.
Now, I was curious about Big Lots, ’cause there were rumors they might be going out of business, too. But then I found out that might not be the case. They’re still hanging in there, it seems.
What’s the best time to visit?
I got sidetracked and started thinking about when’s the best time to visit Salt Lake City. Most folks say fall through spring is good, especially if you’re into snow sports. But summer’s not bad either, especially if you like hiking and mountain biking. I love going up to the mountains during the summer – it’s so peaceful.
Anyway, back to the businesses. I also stumbled upon some news about a restaurant and wine bar space that might be changing. But honestly, it’s all a bit confusing. It’s like one thing after another. It’s a tough time for businesses around here, no doubt.
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been seeing and hearing. It’s a bit of a mess, but I thought I’d share my little adventure of figuring out what’s happening with the businesses on Lake City. It ain’t pretty, but it’s the reality we’re dealing with right now.
