Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into these Christian sports books for a while now. I kept seeing them pop up, and it just seemed like something right up my alley. You know, combining faith and sports, two things I’m really into. So, I finally decided to give it a shot.
First, I started looking around to see what’s even out there. I mean, there are tons of sports books, but I specifically wanted ones with that Christian angle. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing online, checking out different titles and authors.

Then, I made a list of the books that caught my eye. Some were biographies of famous athletes, talking about their faith journeys alongside their sports careers. Others were more like devotionals, with short stories or reflections connecting sports to Christian principles. And some were just fictional stories that included Christian themes, I wanted to have options, you know?
Next, I started to dig deeper into those books. I read some reviews, checked out author backgrounds, and tried to get a feel for what each book was really about. I even looked at sample chapters when I could find them. It was like doing a little investigation to make sure I picked the right ones.
After that, I had to make some choices. I couldn’t read them all at once! So, I narrowed it down to a few that really stood out to me. I picked one biography, one devotional, and one fiction book, just to get a good mix. Then I ordered them online, because I don’t live near a big bookstore that has these kinds of titles.
Once they arrived, I was super excited to dive in. I started with the biography, and it was really inspiring to read about this athlete’s life, their struggles, and how their faith helped them through it all. It was cool to see how they balanced their sports career with their beliefs.
Then, I moved on to the devotional. It was a nice change of pace, with those shorter readings that I could do in the morning or before bed. It got me thinking about how I can apply my own faith to my life, even in small ways, like when playing games with friends or something.
Finally, I read the fiction book. It was a fun story, but it also had some deeper messages about faith and values, woven into the plot. It wasn’t preachy or anything, just a good story that made you think a bit.
My Thoughts
- The biography was probably my favorite. It was just so real and relatable, even though I’m not a pro athlete or anything.
- The devotional was great for those quick, daily reflections. I’ll probably keep going back to that one.
- The fiction book was a good read, but it wasn’t as impactful as the other two, I think it would be perfect for younger readers.
Overall, I’m really glad I tried these Christian sports books. They gave me a new perspective on both sports and faith, and how they can go hand in hand. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who’s into both of those things. I’m already looking forward to reading more!
