Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back into a regular yoga routine, and I’ve heard good things about Bala Yoga in Seattle. I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” So, that’s what I did, and I’m gonna walk you through my whole experience.
Finding the Right Class
First things first, I had to figure out what kind of class I wanted. I’m no yoga expert, more like a “stiff-as-a-board beginner,” so I needed something that wouldn’t make me feel totally lost. I checked their website, and the Bala Flow,All level and Bala Flow classes seemed like the kind, so I chose it randomly.

Getting There & First Impressions
Next up, finding the place. It’s located in seattle, which I think is a pretty convenient spot. I find the studio easily. When I walked in, I was really impressed. I could see the frontdesk and the staff inside is very nice and the space looked super clean and bright, with lots of natural light. It felt really welcoming and calming, not intimidating at all.
The Class Itself
The instructor, whose name I can’t remember, was friendly,I should have taken a picture of their class schedule. She made sure to check in with everyone about any injuries or limitations. The class itself was a good mix of challenging and relaxing. There were definitely some poses I struggled with – my downward dog is more like a “slightly-bent-over dog” – but the instructor offered modifications, so I never felt like I was totally out of my depth.
- We started with some gentle stretches and breathing exercises.
- Then we moved into some sun salutations, which got my heart rate up a bit.
- There were some balancing poses, which were definitely tough for me!
- We ended with some restorative poses and a nice, long savasana (that’s the part where you just lie there and relax – my favorite!).
How I Felt Afterward
Honestly, I felt great after the class. My body felt looser, and my mind felt clearer. It was the perfect way to de-stress after a long day. I was a little sore the next day, but in a good way, like I’d actually worked my muscles.
Would I Go Back?
Absolutely! I really enjoyed the class, the atmosphere, and the instructor. It’s definitely a place I can see myself going to regularly. If you’re in Seattle and looking for a good yoga studio, I’d say give Bala Yoga a try. You might just love it!
