Well, let me tell ya, this whole thing about Georgia Tech and the Big 10, it’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. I heard some fellas sayin’ Georgia Tech needs to find a good spot, ya know? Like, where they fit in best. Makes sense, I guess.
Now, some smarty pants mentioned Notre Dame. Yep, that fancy school up north. And then there’s Florida State, too. If you’re one of them folks who likes things the old-fashioned way, that is. But this whole ACC thing, it’s kinda up in the air, ain’t it? Nobody knows for sure what’s gonna happen.
So, what about this Big 10?
I heard tell that Georgia Tech even thought about joinin’ up with the Big 10. For real! More than just thinkin’ about it, seems like. It wasn’t just a whim, ya know? They really looked into it. But then things got all muddled up, and now nobody knows where the ACC is headed.
- One fella, Kristian Dyer, he writes for that Rutgers Wire, he said Georgia Tech would be a real good fit for the Big 10. A “home run” he called it. Said that if the ACC falls apart, Georgia Tech should go on over to the Big 10.
- Makes ya think, don’t it? This Big 10, it’s been around a long time. Started way back in 1896, I heard. And it ain’t just about sports, even though they’re mighty good at that. They got smart kids there too, and they do things a certain way, ya know, traditions and all that. It ain’t just some fly-by-night operation.
Now, I saw somethin’ in the paper the other day, said Georgia Tech is a pretty good school, number 33 in the whole country! That’s somethin’, ain’t it? So, you’d think they’d want to be with other good schools, right? And the Big 10, well, they got some good schools too. From all over the place, not just the Midwest anymore. They got schools on both sides of the country now!
So, it’s like this, see? Georgia Tech has gotta figure out what’s best for them. Do they stay put in the ACC, even though it’s kinda shaky? Or do they try to jump ship and join the Big 10? It’s a big decision, that’s for sure. And it ain’t just about football, even though folks get all excited about that. It’s about the whole school, the students, the teachers, everything.
I tell ya, it’s like tryin’ to decide whether to plant corn or cotton. You gotta think about the weather, the soil, and what’s gonna bring in the best harvest. And sometimes, even when you think you made the right choice, things can still go wrong. That’s life, I guess. But one thing’s for sure, Georgia Tech has got some thinkin’ to do. And whatever they decide, it’s gonna be a big deal.
And all these folks talkin’ on the TV and the radio, they all got their own opinions. But at the end of the day, it’s up to the folks at Georgia Tech to make the call. I just hope they figure it out and do what’s best for them. ‘Cause a good education, well, that’s important, no matter where you get it. And a good place to play sports, that’s nice too.
So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Maybe they’ll stay in the ACC, maybe they’ll go to the Big 10, or maybe they’ll do somethin’ else entirely. Who knows? But it sure is somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? Just like watchin’ the crops grow, you never know what the harvest will bring.
It’s a waitin’ game now, that’s all it is.
