Alright, let’s talk about this business stuff. You know, keepin’ your business goin’ and growin’, like a weed in the cornfield, you gotta keep at it.
First thing’s first, you gotta keep your eyes peeled. Things change, like the weather. One minute it’s sunshine, the next it’s pourin’ rain. You gotta be ready for anything. That’s what they call “adaptin’,” I think. Like when the price of fertilizer goes up, you gotta figure out somethin’ else, right? Same with business. If folks ain’t buyin’ your chickens, maybe you gotta start sellin’ eggs, or ducks, or somethin’. Gotta be flexible, like a willow branch in the wind.
Then there’s all this newfangled technology. My grandson, he’s always fiddlin’ with his phone. Says it can do all sorts of things. I don’t get half of it, but I reckon it’s important for business these days. Gotta have a website, they say. Gotta be on the “social media.” It’s like shoutin’ from the rooftop, but online. So, even if you’re like me and don’t know a computer from a cow, you gotta find someone who does. Can’t be afraid of new things, even if they seem scary as a hoot owl at midnight.
- Pay attention to what folks want. If they want red apples, don’t try to sell ’em green ones. Listen to your customers, they’ll tell you what they need.
- Don’t be afraid to try new things. Like I said, sometimes you gotta switch from chickens to eggs. Gotta keep experimentin’.

Another thing, you gotta make sure things run smooth. Like a well-oiled machine, they say. If it takes you all day to milk a cow, somethin’s wrong. You gotta find ways to do things faster and better. That’s called “optimizing,” or some such word. Basically, it means don’t waste time or money. Time is money, you know. Can’t be sittin’ around all day, waitin’ for the crops to grow themselves.
The world’s a crazy place these days. Things are always changin’. Folks are always wantin’ somethin’ new. You gotta stay ahead of the game, like a fox chasin’ a rabbit. If you don’t, you’ll get left behind, like a rusty old tractor in the field.
And don’t forget about your people. You can’t do everything yourself. You need good folks to help you. Treat ’em right, pay ’em fair, and they’ll stick with you. It’s like a team of horses pullin’ a plow. You gotta work together, or you won’t get anywhere. Gotta have good leadership, too. Someone to steer the ship, so to speak. Someone who knows where they’re goin’ and how to get there.
Launching a business, well, that’s a whole ‘nother story. But it’s kinda the same thing. Gotta have a plan, gotta work hard, and gotta be willin’ to change things up when you need to. It’s like plantin’ a garden. You gotta prepare the soil, sow the seeds, water ’em, and then hope for the best. But even then, you gotta keep an eye out for weeds and pests. It’s never easy, but it’s worth it if you do it right.
