Okay, so I decided to dive into the world of buying businesses in Washington State. I’ve always dreamt of owning my own thing, and well, I figured, why not take a look at what’s out there?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to get a feel for the market. So I spent some time just browsing, you know? No specific websites, just hitting up general search engines. I typed in stuff like “businesses for sale Washington State”. It was pretty overwhelming at first. So many options!

Narrowing it Down
After some general browsing, I started to think about what kind of business I might be interested in. Something I would enjoy. That really helped narrow the search. I started adding keywords like “restaurant”, “retail”, you know, that kind of thing.
Checking Out Listings
The listing gave basic info – the type of business, general location, asking price. Some had a little more detail, some were super vague. It’s a real mixed bag.
And also I found out the asking price for most business are really high, especially in King County.
Reaching Out
I can send an email or make a call to show my interests to some sellers.
It’s a bit scary putting yourself out there, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right?
Next Steps
- Keep searching: The perfect business isn’t going to find me, I gotta find it.
- Talk to people: Friends, family, maybe even some business owners. Get some advice.
- Stay Positive I know this is long journey.
This whole process is definitely a marathon, not a sprint. I’m taking it one step at a time, trying to learn as much as I can along the way. Wish me luck!
