Okay, so I heard about this crazy sale at Joann’s – a “going out of business” sale. I’m always up for a good deal, especially when it comes to craft supplies, so I knew I had to check it out. I grabbed my biggest tote bag and headed to my local store.
When I got there, the parking lot was packed! It was clear that everyone else had the same idea. I finally found a spot and rushed inside.
The Madness Begins
It was utter chaos. People were everywhere, grabbing fabric, yarn, beads…you name it. Carts were overflowing, and the lines were snaking through the aisles. It felt a bit like a Black Friday sale, but even more intense!
I started by browsing the fabric section. I noticed many bolts had signs indicating deep discounts, things like 50% off, 70% off, even some at 80% off! I picked out some cute cotton prints for quilting projects and some fleece for making cozy blankets. I couldn’t believe the prices.
Next, I moved on to the yarn aisle. I’m a big knitter and crocheter, so this was like heaven for me. There were bins and bins of yarn on sale. I found some beautiful merino wool and some chunky acrylic yarn, all at ridiculously low prices. I definitely stocked up!
- Checked out the fabric section – found some great deals!
- Hit the yarn aisle – it was a dream come true!
- Grabbed some beads and other notions – also on sale!
The Checkout Struggle
After I filled my bag (and I mean filled), I headed for the checkout. The lines were long, but everyone seemed to be in good spirits, probably because of all the amazing deals. I chatted with the lady in front of me, and we compared our finds. It took a while, but I finally made it to the cashier.
Ringing everything up. It felt a bit bittersweet, knowing that this store wouldn’t be around much longer. But I walked away with a huge haul of craft supplies and a very happy wallet.
Even store fixtures were being sold.

Overall, it was a successful, albeit slightly crazy, shopping trip. If you have a Joann’s near you that’s having a going-out-of-business sale, I definitely recommend checking it out. Just be prepared for some crowds and long lines – but trust me, the deals are worth it!
