Alright, so the other day I got this wild idea to dive into the world of “political funny shirts.” I’ve seen them around, you know, those tees that make you chuckle and think at the same time. Figured it’d be a fun little project to see what I could find and maybe even design one myself.
The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed some inspiration. So, I hit up the usual spots – you know, just browsed around to see what was already out there. I spent a good hour just scrolling through images, checking out different styles and slogans.

I noticed a few things. Some shirts were super in-your-face, with bold statements and, uh, “colorful” language. Others were more subtle, using clever puns or inside jokes that only certain people would get. I jotted down some of the phrases and design ideas that I liked, just to have a reference point.
Getting My Hands Dirty
After the browsing session, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on things. So, I fired up this is old image editing software that i use on computer– nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
I started messing around with different fonts and layouts. It was mostly trial and error, to be honest. I’d try one font, decide it looked terrible, and then try another one. Same thing with the colors and the placement of the text. I’m no graphic designer, that’s for sure!
The text itself was tricky. I wanted something that was funny, but not, you know, offensive. It’s a fine line to walk. I ended up going with a phrase that I thought was pretty clever, it’s kind of an inside joke, but I think it works.
The Final Product (Sort Of)
After a couple of hours of tinkering, I had something that I was… okay with. It’s not perfect, by any means. But it’s a start! I showed it to my partner, and they laughed, so that’s a good sign, right?
I’m not sure if I’ll actually get it printed on a shirt. Maybe I’ll keep tweaking it, or maybe I’ll just leave it as a fun little experiment. Who knows! But it was definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon, and it got my creative juices flowing. And who knows, maybe I’ll try my hand at designing some more of these things in the future.
