Okay, so I wanted to dig into who’s really competing with Live Nation Entertainment. I mean, these guys are huge in the live events space, so figuring out their competition felt like a good challenge.
My Deep Dive
First, I gotta say, it is not very easy. So I started by listing out what Live Nation actually does. They’re not just concerts, right? There’s ticketing, venue management, artist management, sponsorships… the whole nine yards. This helped me think about who their competitors in other areas.

Then, I use the searching tools to search the keywords “live nation entertainment competitors”. I got some useful imformation.
Breaking Down the Competition
- AEG Presents: Yeah, these guys are probably the closest direct competitor. They do concerts, festivals, the whole deal, just like Live Nation.
- Eventbrite: Okay, so these guys are more focused on ticketing, especially for smaller and mid-sized events. But they’re definitely eating into a part of Live Nation’s pie, especially with Ticketmaster.
- StubHub: This is all about the secondary ticket market. Live Nation (through Ticketmaster) plays here too, but StubHub is a big name in reselling tickets.
Realizations
I began to search each competitors I got above, and it took me almost half a day to check them out. I do learn something from the searching results.
It’s not just about other concert promoters. It’s about anyone grabbing a piece of the live entertainment experience. That includes how people buy tickets, discover events.
