Okay, so I saw this thing called “Georgia Business Journal Best of Georgia,” and I was like, what’s that all about? I’m always looking for ways to, you know, get my business out there, so I decided to check it out. It’s basically this contest thing where people vote for their favorite businesses in Georgia, in a bunch of different categories.
First, I went to their website and, man, it was a little confusing at first. Lots of lists and stuff. But I figured it out. I found the nomination section and saw that you could nominate your own business, or other people could nominate you. I decided to nominate myself, because why not?

The nomination process was pretty straightforward. I just filled out a form with my business name, what I do, where I’m located, that kind of basic info. It wasn’t rocket science, thankfully. I clicked “submit” and crossed my fingers.
Then came the waiting game. I checked the website like a million times to see if the voting had started. I also told all my friends and family to vote for me, and I posted about it on my social media. I even asked my customers to vote – basically, I bugged everyone I knew.
The Voting Period
- I constantly checked to see the progress of the voting period.
- I make sure that I get updated with the result.
Finally, the voting opened! I was so nervous. I watched the results like a hawk, seeing how many votes I had. It was a rollercoaster, honestly. Some days I was doing great, other days, not so much.
After what felt like forever, the voting closed, and then… more waiting! I was driving crazy, It’s like waiting for a really big exam, waiting for a result for a really big contest. And then, boom! I got an email saying I won in my category! I was so excited, I actually jumped up and down. I couldn’t believe it. It was so easy!
So yeah, that’s my story of how I tackled the “Georgia Business Journal Best of Georgia” thing. It was a bit of a hassle with all the waiting and promoting, but totally worth it in the end. I got my name out there, and I even got a cool little award to show off. I did it!
