Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “bill tech” thing lately, and I figured I’d jot down my experience. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, honestly.
Getting Started
First, I had to figure out what I even wanted to do. I mean, “bill tech” is pretty broad, right? I decided to focus on automating my own monthly bill payments, ’cause I’m terrible at remembering that stuff.
I started by gathering all my bills – you know, electricity, internet, the usual suspects. I put all the due dates and amounts into a simple spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just to get organized.
The Messy Middle
Then came the fun part – trying to automate it all! I looked at a bunch of different tools and apps. Some were way too complicated, others were just… meh. I played around with a few, trying to connect them to my bank account and set up recurring payments.
- First Attempt: I tried using my bank’s built-in bill pay feature. It worked for some bills, but not all of them. Super annoying.
- Second Attempt: I downloaded a budgeting app that promised to handle everything. It was okay, but it felt like overkill for just paying bills. Plus, I wasn’t thrilled about giving all my financial info to some random app.
- Third Attempt: This is going a little bit crazy.
It was a lot of trial and error. I spent hours clicking around, trying to figure out the best way to do things. There were definitely some frustrating moments, like when I accidentally scheduled a payment for the wrong amount. Oops!
Finally got Result
Eventually,I use some script to make it * it is not perfect,I am very happy.
So, that’s my “bill tech” journey so far. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better than forgetting to pay my bills and getting hit with late fees. Still a work in progress, though!
