Okay, folks, let’s talk about how I finally figured out how to watch Seattle sports without going broke or pulling my hair out!
So, I’m a HUGE Seattle sports fan. Mariners, Seahawks, Kraken… you name it, I wanna watch it. But figuring out the TV situation? Total nightmare. It felt like every game was on a different channel or streaming service.

First, I tried the old-school cable route. I called up the big providers, you know, the usual suspects. The packages were insane! I’d have to pay for like, 500 channels I’d never watch just to get the handful that showed the games. No way, not doing that.
Then, I started looking into streaming. This is where it got really confusing.
- Some games are on ROOT SPORTS Northwest, right? Okay, cool. But not all streaming services carry it.
- Then you’ve got the national broadcasts – ESPN, TNT, all those guys. More subscriptions!
- And don’t even get me started on blackouts! Sometimes, even if I had the right channel, the game wouldn’t be available in my area. Seriously?!
I spent days, I swear, DAYS, researching and comparing. I made spreadsheets, I read forums, I almost gave up and just started listening to games on the radio like my grandpa used to.
Finally, after a lot of trial and error, I found a combination that (mostly) works for me. I ended up going to check out a sport website to watch the games.
My (Imperfect) Solution
It is very simple that I’ve found a very convinent way to watch live game!
It’s not perfect. I still miss the occasional game, and the whole blackout thing still drives me crazy. But hey, it’s a lot better than paying a fortune for cable or juggling five different streaming subscriptions. And now, when the season’s on, I can just kick back, relax, and actually enjoy the games. Go Seattle!
