Alright, so I wanted to mess around with tracking the political climate, you know, just for fun. See if I could make sense of all the noise. I started by just Googling around, looking for APIs or datasets that I could play with. It was a bit of a mess, honestly. Lots of outdated stuff and things that were way too complicated for what I needed.
Digging Through the Data
I finally stumbled upon some sources, but even then I wasted a lot of time. Some required scraping, which I wasn’t super comfortable with. Others had these crazy complicated data structures that made my head spin.

- First step, I tried just plain old Google searches. “Political sentiment data,” “election trends,” stuff like that. It was a rabbit hole.
- Then, I looked at some academic databases. Way too dense. I’m not writing a dissertation here!
- Finally, after searching to find the ideal way to start, I start.
My DIY Solution
Since I’m not a data scientist I decide to do somethinf simple, So I create one file.
I manually record data from these social medias.
I realized that I have get the simple datas and put it in my file.
That’s the all process and method for the simple project.
It’s not perfect, and It’s still pretty basic, but it’s a start! I can actually see some interesting stuff, even with my super simple setup.
