So, I’ve been diving deep into Italian entertainment lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started off pretty clueless, just poking around online, you know?
Movies
First up, I hit the movies. I knew I wanted something classic, so I started searching for Italian movies from the ’60s. Turns out, there are tons on Amazon Prime! I found this one called “La Notte” by Antonioni and another one, “Accattone” by Pasolini. Watched them both. They were pretty heavy, but really well made. I felt like I was getting a real taste of Italian cinema.

TV Shows
Next, I figured I’d check out some TV shows. I found a list of popular Italian TV shows online. I didn’t really know where to watch them, so that took some digging. Eventually, I stumbled upon some info about Rai 2, which seems to be a big channel over there. I found out they do game shows and sports events, which was cool. I tried to find a few to watch, but honestly, it was a bit tricky. Then, I got this tip about a Netflix show called “Zero”. Started watching it, and it’s actually pretty good.
Music
Then I got into the music scene. I really wanted to experience some live music, so I looked up music festivals and concerts in Italy. I found this website that lists a bunch of upcoming events. There’s this band, “Black Emperor”, playing in Turin. Their stuff is labeled alternative rock, which is right up my alley. I saw a bunch of other concerts listed for Rome, Milan, and Bologna. I made a note of those for my next trip in 2025.
Other Stuff
Oh, and I found this website, MUBI, that’s showing this crazy Italian movie called “Django Kill… If You Live, Shoot!”. I’m definitely adding that to my list. It looks totally over the top, but in a good way.
So yeah, that’s been my journey into Italian entertainment so far. It’s been a mix of highs and lows, lots of searching and clicking, but I feel like I’ve discovered some real gems. I’m excited to keep exploring and see what else I can find.
