Alright, so, I’ve been diving into this whole “Women in Tech Seattle” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey. I started off just curious, you know? I kept seeing stuff online about it and figured, why not check it out?
First, I signed up on this online platform I found, it is full of women working in the tech field in Seattle. I joined some online discussions about the latest tech trends – pretty basic stuff, but it was cool to see what everyone was up to.

Then, I started looking into the events. They’ve got tons of them. I went to a couple of networking meetups, which, honestly, I was a bit nervous about at first. But it turned out to be pretty chill. I met some really interesting women, some just starting out, others who’ve been in the game for years.
- Networking Meetups: These were super helpful. I got to chat with people in a relaxed setting, share experiences, and even get some advice. No pressure, just good conversation.
- Skill-Building Workshops: I attended a couple of these too. I mean we’re learning new skills or brushing up on old ones. I even picked up some tips on negotiating salaries – that one’s gonna come in handy, for sure.
- Online Forums: Before diving into the events, I spent some time on their online forums. It was a great way to get a feel for the community, and I learned a lot just from reading the discussions.
They also have these mentorship programs. I haven’t signed up for one yet, but I’m thinking about it. It could be really great to have someone to bounce ideas off of, someone who’s been there, done that.
And then there’s the whole job posting thing. I’ve seen a bunch of opportunities pop up. I applied to a few that looked interesting. Fingers crossed on that!
There was this organization called “She’s Coding” that I found out about, and they are all about closing the gender gap in tech. I signed up for their mailing list to learn more. They seem like a great group, focusing on supporting women and non-binary folks in the industry.
Oh, and I also stumbled upon this “Seattle Women in Tech Meetup Group.” I requested to join, it seems like another excellent way to meet more people and learn about different tech fields.
So yeah, that’s where I’m at with this whole “Women in Tech Seattle” exploration. It’s been a really positive experience so far. I’m meeting new people, learning new things, and feeling a bit more connected to the tech scene here. Definitely something I’d recommend checking out if you’re a woman in tech in the Seattle area, or even if you’re just curious about it. You might be surprised at what you find!
