Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this thing called Vulcan Technology lately. It’s kind of a mixed bag, to be honest. I mean, I stumbled upon this Indonesian company, PT Vulcan Teknologi Indonesia, that’s supposedly all about ERP systems and cloud-based stuff. Sounds fancy, right? But then, they’re also the sole distributor for MOTI, which seems like some kind of vape brand. That threw me for a loop.
I did some digging, and it turns out Vulcan is working on some kind of sorbent called VULSORB. What’s it for? No idea. Seemed a little all over the place, you know? It seems like they have some cool stuff to use in their products, but I couldn’t find more about it.

Then I started poking around in the AI world, since that’s where I see “Vulcan” pop up a lot. I found this model that was supposedly tweaked using something called LLaMA Factory. It got me thinking about how companies are fine-tuning AI, but this one used 24GB during training. That sounds like a lot of memory. And then there was this other AI model, Mixtral-8x7B, quantized to just 2-bit. I’m not even sure what that means exactly, but it sounds complicated.
There is also this one called “Hangzhou Vulcan New Material Technology Co.” I really don’t know what they do, they don’t even have a proper website, so I just moved on.
Back to tech companies. I found this Vulcan Semi that’s all about network and control semiconductors. Sounds pretty important for all the new gadgets coming out. Who knows, maybe they’re onto something big, but I couldn’t really find out much about them except that they exist.
And guess what? There’s even a company that got a hundred million in funding, led by INNO-CHIP and VeriSilicon. They’re called Vulcan Technology, and they do industrial networking solutions. That’s a lot of money. I guess they must be doing something right. I tried to do some digging, but couldn’t find any relevant information, just that they were founded in 2020.
But here’s where it gets a bit weird, there’s some other “Vulcan” company working on a machine learning tool called ElasmoFinder. Apparently, it’s supposed to help analyze video from underwater cameras, or something like that. It sounds cool, but I’m not sure how it’s connected to everything else.
Lastly, I ran into this group that claims to be experts in Single Sign-On solutions. They say they work with top Thai banks and do financial gateways and microservices. Honestly, it sounded pretty legit, but also a bit too specialized for my taste. They seem to know what they are doing, but it is very specific, for banks and such, not for me really.
So, yeah, that’s my Vulcan Technology rabbit hole. It’s a mix of random stuff. Some of it seems promising, some of it’s just confusing, and some is kind of cool. I guess that’s just how it is when you start exploring something new. You never know what you’re gonna find.

- Found a company doing ERP and distributing vapes. Weird combo.
- Learned about some kind of sorbent called VULSORB.
- Saw some AI models being fine-tuned. Tech stuff, you know.
- Discovered a company making semiconductors for networks and gadgets.
- Heard about a company that got a ton of funding for industrial networking.
- Stumbled upon a machine learning tool for analyzing underwater video.
- Found a group specializing in Single Sign-On for Thai banks.
It’s all pretty random, but hey, that’s what makes it interesting, right? I might dig deeper into some of these later, but for now, I’m just sharing my initial thoughts. Hope it was at least somewhat informative or entertaining. Cheers!
