Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this whole adventure I had with Escape Velocity Entertainment Funding. It all started a few months back, around February, I think it was the 9th. I was digging around for ways to get some cash for this game idea I had. You know, one of those “this is gonna be huge” kind of ideas.
I stumbled upon this thing called Escape Velocity. Apparently, they’re like this early-stage venture firm, throwing money at tech businesses from pre-seed all the way to series A. Sounded fancy, and I was desperate, so I kept digging.

First, I tried to figure out what they were all about. Their website talked a big game about “finding your angel investor” and being the “ultimate platform” and whatnot. I found some article from April 13th saying they deal with financial services, e-commerce, and fashion. And there was another from November 3rd that was just some guy talking about Escape Velocity, not super helpful, but it got me more curious.
So, I started looking for actual numbers. How much money have these guys actually invested? I found some data, but it was all over the place, and honestly, it didn’t really paint a clear picture. Some website mentioned “real-time insights” and “connecting with decision-makers,” but it was all behind paywalls and stuff, you know how it is.
Then, I hit a wall. I mean, this whole thing was starting to feel like a wild goose chase. I couldn’t even find a straight answer on how much they invest or what kind of games they’re into. There was something from December 9th about them aiming to “make every hour spent developing and playing our games incredibly rewarding.” But, that’s pretty standard for game developers, right?
I did find out they operate fully remotely, which is cool, I guess. But it didn’t really help me get any closer to, you know, actually getting funded. It’s hard to get someone to give you money when you can’t find their email.
Then around the end of October, the 29th to be precise, I found this article that was basically like, “Hey, here’s how Escape Velocity Entertainment Funding can help you make your creative dreams a reality!” It sounded promising, but again, it was just a lot of fluff. No real details. Like they wanted to help “build a next-gen indie studio” or find an “experienced crew,” but how? They wouldn’t say.
- They’re into early-stage stuff.
- They seem to like tech, finance, and fashion.
- They talk a big game but don’t give many details.
- They’re remote.
Here’s what I learned, or didn’t learn, really:
In the end, I didn’t get any money from them. It felt like I was just going in circles. But, hey, it was a learning experience, right? Maybe this will help someone else not waste their time. Or maybe, someone out there knows the secret handshake to get these guys’ attention. If you do, let a guy know, will ya?
