Okay, so I was messing around online, trying to find something fun to do, and I stumbled upon this “business letter abbreviations crossword” thing. I thought, “Why not?” I mean, I see these abbreviations all the time in emails and letters, but do I really know what all of them mean? Probably not. So, I decided to give it a go.
First, I searched for “business letter abbreviations crossword” on Google. Loads of websites popped up, each with their own puzzles. I clicked on a few of them and just kind of browsed.

- Some of them were pretty straightforward, with clues like “Abbreviation for ‘attention’” (which, by the way, is ATTN).
- Others were a bit trickier, making me actually think about the context in which these abbreviations are used.
I started filling in the ones I knew right away. Like, RE for “regarding” – that one’s a classic. And ASAP for “as soon as possible,” obviously. I felt pretty good knocking those out quickly.
But then I hit a few roadblocks. There were some abbreviations I’d seen before but couldn’t quite place. I spent a good chunk of time on just trying to figure out a few of these. I even started looking up business letter abbreviation lists to see if I could jog my memory. It was kind of embarrassing how many I didn’t know!
Eventually, after some serious searching, I managed to complete the whole crossword. It took me longer than I’d like to admit, but I did it. I think one crossword was 30 words, and I searched another website, it said there were 40 possible answers for one clue.
Here’s what I learned:
- There are way more business letter abbreviations than I realized.
- Some of them are pretty obscure. I mean, who actually uses all of these regularly?
- It’s actually kind of a fun way to test your knowledge, even if it’s a little frustrating at times.
So yeah, that’s how I spent my afternoon – wrestling with a business letter abbreviations crossword. It wasn’t exactly the most exciting thing I’ve ever done, but it was definitely a good brain exercise. I won’t say what my time was, but I’m pretty sure I won’t be challenging any crossword champions anytime soon!
